My friend from Alaska has basically really pointed to the obvious. There was a dual standard being applied. The only change is the change in circumstances, which is that there is a Democrat in the White House, and the Congress, which has been basically Democratic during these periods of time, had no difficulty with insisting in those cases on our oversight role. In responding to our responsibility to discharge by calling it 'partisanship,' the only difference is that the Democrats control the White House. Therefore, they are not willing to do that which they have done in the past, and that is, to have full and appropriate hearings.
