The enemy in Afghanistan is not the insurgent; the enemy is fear.

I remain concerned that the pace of current operations prevents our forces from training across the entire range of operations and erodes our readiness to counter future threats.

It is my personal belief that allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be the right thing to do.

I think the legitimacy of the Afghan Government at every level... is a real concern.
