Obviously, I’m here for another term.

Well, it’s a new world, it’s the same Constitution,

And the hardest part for judges is that we really cannot participate.

You know, there are lots of limits on what judges can do, and I try to be very, very mindful and scrupulous with respect to that because, as you say, our obligation is to be unbiased in our approach.

When I get invitations to do things, I always have them screened by the legal office, the public information office, just to make sure that there are no ethical conflicts, that this is not a fundraiser, you know.

And, so, you have to then navigate all the sources that could make for an appearance of partiality, which you want to avoid.

I try to be very, very mindful and scrupulous with respect to that because, as you say, our obligation is to be unbiased in our approach.

You really have to be focused on that.

Honestly, the vibes in the courtroom were the vibes in the courtroom on any other day.

It was sort of like….from the court's point of view, a non-event.

You just have to deal with the fact that there's a conservative court doing things that conservative jurists have long thought it appropriate to do, and I can really dislike that.

Tariffs is probably the key policy issue for this president. I mean, something he campaigned on, he ran on, he cared an enormous amount about.

I don't see this as a court that is just like, 'We're just going to rubber stamp what the current administration does.' You know, quite the opposite.

I think that, as we have gotten more experienced in these constant requests that are coming to us about requests for emergency relief, that we better recognize that at least sometimes there is a need for additional information.

There are definitely questions about how it is appropriate to use that docket, when it's appropriate to use that docket, the standards to be applied.

I call it the emergency docket.

I know have some significant concerns.
