And was it under a different set of criteria? Why, when it was recovered under initial criteria, was it subsequently put back on a lesser level of listing, but nevertheless a listing level?

These reports, including today's testimony, of targeting by the IRS of organizations based on their political views, religion, or opposition to the Administration's policies is certainly unacceptable.

That is not meant as a political statement. Both conservative and liberal groups have taken advantage of the lack of transparency of 501(c)(4) status.

We need to get to the bottom of these problems and work together to identify solutions on what I hope will be a bipartisan basis.
