Marine Le Pen
The Public Record
French politician (born 1968)
To pretend that the French or other European peoples could absorb the consequences of a total cut-off of Russian gas, oil, or raw materials, is simply irresponsible.
For our French leaders, as for the European leaders, this result bears witness, to the great mistrust, of the French people, towards them, which they cannot ignore, and to the widely shared aspiration, for a great change.
More importantly perhaps, his prudent friendly opponent from the neo-fascist party, Marine Le Pen, not winning that election, that has huge international implications, in particular, for the Ukraine war.
If Marine Le Pen is elected as president of France, it will create a shock that would shake the world.
Her stance could embolden the Kremlin by tying the EU's hands on any further measures against Russia
She has suggested publicly that Russia essentially has the right to menace Ukraine, and to keep Ukraine in its sphere of influence.
