“My opponent is Donald Trump; he is the real opponent,’’ said Fréchette on Aug. 27, in Quebec City, adding, “I’m asking for a mandate to move forward through a storm.”

“As premier, I am proud to have initiated a genuine transformation of Quebec’s economy — a transformation that is essential in the current context,” she said.

I accept Quebecers’ decision and take responsibility for the results.

I think every riding in Quebec has the possibility of becoming a cradle of the coalition to keep the third way active, and we’re working toward that.
