I support parental notification, I support the West Virginia statute which requires parental notification except in very limited circumstances... I happen to believe that the case cited, the Joyce Farley case, by the proponents of this legislation is a horror. But I also think that the Spring Adams case, in which she was raped by her father and then shot by her father, is a horror as well. There is another reason, too, that I oppose this legislation: Because I do not think we want the FBI and the Federal authorities criminalizing brothers and sisters and other loved ones who may feel that this is the only way they can help their pregnant sister.
