I rise in strong support of reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act. What this legislation is about is making sure the United States of America remains the most innovative and creative Nation in the world, that we stay on the cutting edge of scientific, medical and technological discoveries and breakthroughs, that we're making sensible investments in basic and applied research and also in workforce development areas, especially in those crucial fields of study, such as science, technology, engineering, and math. We have a choice to make today, whether to support these investments or not and watch other nations in the world do this for us.
