I will go ahead and close. About two decades ago, there were only 15 gray wolves in the western Great Lakes States. Today the gray wolf population exceeds 3,700, and yet we are to act as if some judge someplace decides that that is not enough, that the States of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Wyoming in and of themselves cannot manage these populations in accordance with the Fish and Wildlife's actions and with their scientific help. This is not unprecedented, as the minority has mentioned. This exactly has happened with Montana and Idaho before. Mr. Chairman, I urge my colleagues to support this amendment.
