I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: At the end of title V of division A, add the following: SEC. __. TRANSPORTATION OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT. Section 229(e)(4) of the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999 (49 U.S.C. 31136 note) is amended-- (1) by striking ``50 air mile radius'' and inserting ``75 air mile radius''; and (2) by striking ``the driver.'' and inserting ``the driver, except that a State, upon notice to the Secretary, may establish a different air mile radius limitation for purposes of this paragraph if such limitation is between 50 and 75 air miles and applies only to movements that take place entirely within the State.''. The Acting CHAIR. Pursuant to House Resolution 512, the gentleman from Wisconsin (Mr. Ribble) and a Member opposed each will control 5 minutes. The Chair recognizes the gentleman from Wisconsin.
