I wish to express my concern over the proposal to authorize 2014 funding for the Space Launch System at a level of $1.45 billion. It is not adequate to develop the launch system that was approved by the Congress in the NASA Authorization Act of 2010. Development of the SLS that was mandated by the Congress requires a 2014 authorization and appropriation of $1.8 billion.
