The GPS Act creates a uniform warrant standard for government demands of location data.
A legislative body is well situated to gauge changing public attitudes, to draw detailed lines, and to balance privacy and public safety in a comprehensive way.
I think there should be a standard. I don't think that the probable cause standard as set out in this bill is appropriate.
When you don't expose massive legislation to the full light of day and have a full debate on it, there will be mistakes that will require technical corrections.
let me say that the Congress unloaded upon you one very, very big job when the AIA was passed.
