I think those GIs recognize this is supposed to be a seamless society. We're supposed to help take care of the people who are in the most trouble, and I don't apologize for using some of the money that we use for veterans benefits. I don't apologize for getting that money from some of the people in this society who have had the least stress in their lives. It seems to me that that's what the Judeo-Christian ethic is all about, and we plead fully guilty on this side of the aisle.
