The Federal Reserve, not exactly a left-wing pinko, Democratic institution. They have just completed their second study of wealth in this country; and what that showed is that in the 1980's we saw the richest one-half of 1 percent of American families increase their share of national wealth from 24 to 31 percent of the total national wealth. They increased their wealth by $2 trillion, more than twice as much as the national debt went up during that same period. And yet they want to give them more. They want to cut back on programs for working people to give tax cuts to people who make $200,000 a year, and then they want to defend themselves as defenders of the middle class? What a joke.
