“I have an amendment at the desk. The Acting CHAIR. The Clerk will designate the amendment. The text of the amendment is as follows: Strike section 2 and insert the following: SEC. 2. STUDY AND REPORT ON THE OPERATIONS OF THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS AT MEETING ITS STATUTORILY MANDATED OBLIGATIONS. (a) Study.--The Comptroller General of the United States shall carry out a study of-- (1) the effectiveness and efficiency of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in meeting the Bureau's statutorily mandated obligations; (2) the prevalence of discriminatory practices in lending; and (3) the workplace rights of Bureau staff since establishment of the Bureau. (b) Report.--Not later than 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall issue a report to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Committee on Financial Services of the House of Representatives, and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate containing all findings and determinations made in carrying out the study required under subsection (a).
