I am very much in support of what the parties are trying to preserve--a way of life through forestry in Maine and the conservation of the magnificent Northeast forests of this nation--and I will carry that support into conference. Funding of this project is certainly a wise use of federal funds for the conservation of outstanding undeveloped lands, and also keeping the Maine woods in sustainable forestry.

I agree with that view. It should be the U.S. Forest Service's priority to use the most effective, environmentally protective aerially applied fire retardants.
