Regardless of location, type of pipeline, size or terrain, a program to maintain and inspect the integrity of all pipelines is required to ensure the public safety, environmental protection and reliability of the infrastructure. In fact, the agency should be consulting with the bridge inspection specialists in the various other Federal and State agencies.
