The FAA does not really have a role to play in telling air carriers to hire the folks back. It is not an amendment that is implementable. I am a little flummoxed by it myself. However, I encourage my colleagues to vote against this amendment. Mr. Chair, I yield back the balance of my time. The Acting CHAIR. The question is on the amendment offered by the gentlewoman from Illinois (Mrs. Miller). The question was taken; and the Acting Chair announced that the ayes appeared to have it.
