I rise today to say happy birthday to the U.S. Army. On June 14, we will celebrate a remarkable milestone: the 250th birthday of the United States Army. For 2/2 centuries, the Army has stood as a pillar of strength, sacrifice, and service. From the earliest days of our Nation's founding to today's complex challenges, Army soldiers have defended our freedoms, upheld our values, and protected the American people with unwavering courage. This historic anniversary reminds us of the countless sacrifices made by generations of men and women in uniform, those who have answered the call to serve, often at great personal cost. On this special occasion, we honor their legacy of dedication and resilience that continues to inspire all of us. To the brave soldiers, past and present, I thank them for their service. Happy 250th birthday, U.S. Army.
