I want to say quickly that I think the American consumer deserves information. When they go to the grocery store, as a consumer they deserve the right to know where that food has come from. I was talking with one of my constituents over the weekend; and he said to me, you know, I would pay a little more for a television set that was made in America by American workers if I could find one. It is just unconscionable that we have reached this place. But in terms of country-of-origin labeling, that is so basic. And if we cannot give this kind of information to the American consumer, then we will have failed them.
