Legislation introduced by Senator Cantwell and Chairman Hatch, the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act of 2017 (S. 548), would increase LIHTC allocations by 50% and gives states and developers more flexibility to use credits in ways that reflect their local markets.
Cantwell's bill aims to enhance the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program.
