Jim McDermott: “they propose cutting $1 billion from the National Institutes of Health. Now this cut is just plain stupid.”

The witch hunt that is going on here is really about discrediting the IRS.

I always love to come to these propaganda hearings before the elections, and it is obvious we are trying to hold the insurance companies harmless here.

The truth is that Medicare must be strengthened, not cut, and benefits must be expanded, not scaled back.

I intend to carefully scrutinize ideas that may not be in the best interests of the program or the beneficiaries.
