Thank you for holding this Member Day hearing to improve and sustain Medicare.

The best way to improve and sustain Medicare is by expanding it and strengthening it because, unfortunately, there are holes in the program that weaken health security of our beneficiaries.

This area is such a large part of our economy as well as such a large part of our question of national security.

This committee has the potential of doing more good for the American people than perhaps any other single subcommittee in the Congress.
