Mr. Speaker, a champion, among the champions of people who are here in Congress, is Dan Kildee. I had the privilege of serving with his uncle for a substantial portion of my career. I had the privilege--and I have spoken with Dan about this--to visit with his uncle before this particular crisis of Flint's and to discuss the plight of the people in Flint and Pontiac and that general area. In this particular instance, I hope we don't hear from people that this isn't germane. This is the Democrats' motion to recommit, and Republicans who care about the lead exposure that these children and families have been exposed to in Flint can simply vote for the motion to recommit, and we will be able to address this subject. I yield 5 minutes to the distinguished gentleman from Flint, Michigan (Mr. Kildee) to discuss our proposal.
