The Clerk read as follows: Page 28, amend lines 16 through 19 to read as follows: For nuclear waste disposal activities to carry out the purpose of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982 (Public Law 97-425), including the acquisition of real property or facility construction or expansion, $25,000,000 to remain available until expended and to be derived from the Nuclear Waste Fund: Provided, That $2,500,000 shall be provided to the State of Nevada to conduct appropriate activities pursuant to that Act: Provided further, That $2,500,000 shall be provided to the affected units of local government, as defined in Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982, to conduct appropriate activities pursuant to the Act: Provided further, That the distribution of the funds shall follow the current formula used by the affected units of local government: Provided further, That $20,000,000 shall be provided for the purpose of research and development in the areas of fuel recycling and accelerator transmutation technology.
