The needs described so well by my colleagues are pervasive, urgent, and fully within our means to address. Hunger has a cure. As ranking member of the Agriculture Subcommittee on Research, Nutrition, and General Legislation, I will do all I can to pass the Hunger Relief Act this year. I respectfully and insistently ask the Budget Committee to cooperate in creating a $2.5 billion reserve for this purpose.
