These constitutional issues are vital ones for Congress to consider. I understand that efforts are underway for industry stakeholders to reach some accommodation with the Administration. I encourage constructive dialogue between the Administration and industry and, in fact, have been urging a dialogue between law enforcement and industry for over a year. But Congress will continue to exercise necessary oversight to ensure that the privacy and other constitutional rights of Americans are protected.
