Since this bill was introduced in the House on June 26th, so 148 or so days ago, 2,960 service members and veterans have died by suicide.
But I am mindful of something Rahm Emanuel said when he was chief of staff to President Obama in 2009. He said you never let a serious crisis go to waste. I am afraid some of us are doing that here.
I want to thank the Chairman for bringing this bill forward, and hopefully we can get this thing done and out of here by Christmas.
