The only thing that I am certain about down there from reports that I have received is that Mr. Stimson is doing his best to compose the differences and find some method by which peace can be restored.

Mrs. James E. Golladay, widow of Mr. Golladay, who served in the Interior Department for twenty-eight years preceding his death, may be appointed to an appropriate clerical position without reference to the civil service rules.
Mr. Clifford C. Marsh may be reinstated as Assistant Postmaster at Yellowstone Park, Wyoming, without regard to the time limit fixed by the civil service rules.
This order is recommended by the Treasury Department and the Civil Service Commission.
The Civil Service Commission cannot recommend the appointment as required by the interests of the service.
