He’s not going to do anything reasonable. He’s sending a former minister of culture to these talks, whereas the Ukrainians, President Zelensky sent his defense minister and one of his chief lieutenants and his party to these talks.

What`s not clear is the other side. The Russians are going through the motions. The Russians pretend. Maybe the Russians are even sincere. But until President Putin makes the decision to negotiate, then this is not going to go anywhere.
We need to maintain support. And other things pull at that attention, just exactly as you have described. It is no less important now than it was two months ago for the Ukrainians to win.
