I rise in strong support of this amendment to give 1.5 percent in the Land and Water Conservation Fund for recreational public access, including hunting and fishing. Thirteen million hunters in the United States generate $67 billion in economic activity every year and account for 1 million jobs. But beyond the dollars and cents, this is about a way of life, about heritage, and about time with families spent together. So for our sportsmen, it's not enough just to ensure their rights, but to ensure there's a place to exercise those rights; and this is a huge step forward to make sure that those recreational activities have a place for us across the United States.
