Today, President Barack Obama is asking Congress to raise the national debt $2.4 trillion, largely to fund many of the programs that he's had passed in the last couple of years. And to put that into perspective, that amounts to $20,000 for every American family. Congress is being asked to add $20,000 in debt burden to every American family. And we owe it to them before we raise that debt to make sure we are cutting up the credit cards and that we are not going to continue to spend beyond our means.…”
