I believe, paraphrasing, there are threats greater than an Islamist insurgency that's nationalist in its nature.

The Voice of America, when properly levied, has been instrumental to the freedom of literally hundreds of millions of people and that shouldn't be underestimated.

Perhaps have we considered a paradigm wherein we tie aid and development to Afghanistan to eradication efforts?
