“may I say to our distinguished majority leader that having been a part of that meeting for well over an hour this morning, which you and Senator Lott and other leaders conducted, we all were given a full opportunity to express our views, but throughout, we recognized the enormous pressure that you, as our leader, have been under because of the hit on your personal office staff.
