I thank the Senator for his comments. We might agree or disagree on the role the President has played, but that still doesn't beg the fact that we need to continue our efforts in this body and in the body down the hall. ____________________

The safeguards we put in place, the oversight this body provides, only work if intelligence officers know that they can tell the truth without losing their jobs.
When expertise is cast aside and intelligence is distorted or silenced, our adversaries gain the upper hand and America is left less safe.
My fear is, there are still international laws of the sea about how the process of interdicting these kind of boats.
