I remain ready to work across the aisle to strengthen our ethics laws and crack down on congressional stock trading, without using that effort as a vehicle to rewrite our nation’s voting laws.

But creating a new title is not a substitute for having a coherent strategy.

I strongly support cracking down on stock trading by members of Congress and making sure no public official can use their position to enrich themselves.

Artificial intelligence is one of the defining national security challenges of our time, and I welcome the administration recognizing that this technology requires serious, sustained attention at the highest levels of government.
