We cannot accept a nation where a teenager’s bus ride home becomes a battleground, and where families are left to mourn preventable tragedies.

You must put one foot in the system and one foot outside. We must fight for change. We cannot adjust to the party; we must change the party. Got that right to vote, 18 years ago after much bloodshed and – and death, and yet 18 years later…

As we honor our mothers, we must also recognize that too many are being failed by a system that should protect them.

We will continue fighting for mothers today, tomorrow, and every day for their right to safe, dignified care.
