We are enjoying surpluses in Social Security and Medicare, $165 billion projected next year in surpluses. But by 2017, 2018, that surplus is going to end. The baby boomers are going to retire, and instead of enjoying a big fat surplus, in a few years, just a couple of decades, we will have $300 billion deficit in the Social Security Trust Fund. We will be having to pay out $300 billion more than we are bringing in.
