In closing, this bill circumvents the normal thoughtful process for scheduling drugs. Most of the drugs in this bill can't even be found in the United States. And to the extent there is an emergency and a need to place these on a schedule, the Attorney General has the emergency process where he can just put a drug on the schedule for a year and a half. Medical researchers have asked us not to pass the bill because it will disturb promising research, particularly on Parkinson's disease, and so they have asked us not to pass this bill. We should follow the thoughtful process for scheduling drugs and defeat this bill. I yield back the balance of my time.
