This fall, voters can cast their ballots for Virginia to no longer strip so many of our neighbors of their fundamental rights — a shameful relic of our Jim Crow past.

It’s unfortunate that they’re choosing to sue the commonwealth of Virginia. But we will continue to defend it because ultimately the law is about saving lives.

Spanberger also signed another law requiring health insurance companies to cover both prescription and over-the-counter contraceptives without cost-sharing.

Strengthening these institutions requires strong, effective governance across our colleges and universities.
