The Canadians are able to use modern technology to produce the oil and not to spoil the environment. It does not have to be one or the other, where we either have the energy source or we have the environment. We can have them both. We have the technology to make it possible to protect our environment and protect a domestic energy source at the same time.

This hearing, as far as understanding truth of what went on, and coming up with a good history, is going to be invalid.
This ban is even more ridiculous after we just locked in mandatory spending of $900 million in perpetuity with the so-called Great American Outdoors Act.
Instead of helping, it seems the Majority is more interested in putting fishermen's livelihood at risk in the name of faux conservation.
All of those legitimate questions are not going to be addressed in this Committee hearing today.
