I am proud to yield 2 minutes to the gentleman from California (Mr. Calvert) because if anyone can be considered an expert on water issues in the United States, it is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Interior Appropriations, as well as a former member of the Natural Resources Committee.

Instead of helping, it seems the Majority is more interested in putting fishermen's livelihood at risk in the name of faux conservation.
the Magnuson-Stevens Act is not just for the conservation and management of fishery resources, but also to assure that our citizens benefit from employment, food supply, and revenue which could be generated from these resources.
I am hopeful that more substantial progress to strengthen the power grid is forthcoming in the near future.
