On the recordJuly 30, 2003
Let's go to People for the American Way. It is estimated that People for the American Way have between $12 and $30 million given to them, mainly by the Hollywood crowd and big business people, to do what they do in this town, which is to distort Republican nominees' records. This is People for the American Way. I will not read it all: Charitable Choice, a bad choice for government and religion. Here is the paragraph. An Evangelical church running a government-funded welfare program could state that 'Catholics need not apply,' in a help wanted ad. I do not recall any Democratic Senators expressing outrage about that. I did not see one comment about the fact that the liberals have used this language against the Charitable Choice legislation. Whether you agree with that or whether you agree with General Pryor, or not----
