I may agree with the Senator that there should have been a verdict against the defendants, but a jury in the United States found otherwise. That doesn't mean we should federalize all hate crimes. That is what I am concerned about. I will just put forth my offer to work with the Senator to see if we can find some way of bringing everybody together in a way that will not intrude the Federal Government into all the local and State prosecutions in this country, which certainly the Senator's amendment would do.
