as far as I know, other than the few remarks I will make right now, I think Senator Frist is the only speaker remaining on our sex offender bill. I would feel bad if I did not mention a number of the staff people who have helped us on this bill. My own staffer, Ken Valentine, who is a Secret Service agent, has been serving as a detailee in my office and has really carried the mail on this like few members of the Senate staff I have ever known. Tom Jipping, on my staff; Dave Turk, on Senator Biden's staff, had a great deal to do with this, as well. Bradley Schreiber, with Mr. Foley's staff; Mike O'Neill, of Senator Specter's staff; Mike Miners, Senator Specter's chief counsel, crime counsel; Todd Braunstein, with Senator Specter; Matt McPhillips, with Senator Specter; Julie Katzman, with Senator Leahy; Bruce Cohen, Senator Leahy's chief of staff on the Judiciary Committee; Noah Bookbinder, with Senator Leahy; Christine Leonard, with Senator Kennedy. Senator Kennedy has played a significant role here. He was willing to withdraw the hate crimes bill so that this bill would pass readily through both bodies. I am very grateful to him.…
