The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To make the effective date of the amendments expanding the trade adjustment assistance program contingent on the enactment of the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act, the United States-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement Implementation Act, and the United States-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement Implementation Act) On page 31 of the amendment, between lines 7 and 8, insert the following: SEC. 231. EFFECTIVE DATE FOR TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE CONTINGENT ON ENACTMENT OF CERTAIN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTING BILLS. Notwithstanding section 201(b) or any other provision of this subtitle, the amendments made by this subtitle shall take effect on the date on which the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act, the United States- Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement Implementation Act, and the United States-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement Implementation Act have been enacted into law.
