We ought to listen to Senator Grassley. He is one of the leaders in this body and somebody we all look up to as totally honest and sensitive on these issues. He has done a wonderful job on the Finance Committee. According to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, perhaps the most time-sensitive problem waiting for congressional action is the so- called patch for the alternative minimum tax. I understand that if we do not take care of this very soon, we could see major delays in the tax filing season that will start on January 1. Is that the understanding of Senator Grassley?
