Similar emergency authority is contained within the drug law. I must take this opportunity to reject the many press accounts, which have so irresponsibly and inaccurately alleged that the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act "deregulated" dietary supplements, or falsely stated that "FDA's hands were tied" by our Act. Nothing is further from the truth, as we have just explained in outlining all the authorities provided to FDA to make certain dietary supplements are safe and accurately labeled.”
