Today’s proclamation shows that President Trump listens to Utahns and respects the limits Congress placed on the Antiquities Act. For too long, presidents have weaponized monument designations to lock up millions of acres, close roads…

We all have a responsibility to ensure that legislation this size is fully paid for before it reaches the president’s desk.

It’s also just repugnant to any sense of decency, any sense of our common heritage and our common belief that the government needs to not weigh in on doctrinal disputes between various religious denominations.

I won’t speak for him, but I’m thrilled about where this is heading.
