Mr. Speaker, it was my honor to serve for 14 years as a pilot in the Air Force, and for my family--my wife, my children, and me--those were some of the best years of our lives. I continue to be amazed at the quality of those who serve in our military. As Americans, we should make it a habit to always thank these servicemembers whenever we see them. As Members of Congress, it is our job to be wise in our foreign policy, to give our warfighters the resources they need to win and then to ensure that veterans receive the benefits that we have promised them. In fact, that third responsibility is the genesis for this bill, fixing a glitch that was brought to my attention.…”
